Anyway, I was inspired to post by a comment George just made to me. He agreed to proofread a brief for me and found himself struggling due to its technical nature. At the end, he said, "well, dear, you have learned a lot in three years." It took me a couple seconds before I agreed that, yes, I have learned a great deal in the past three years.
With the end so near, I often find myself reflecting on the many changes over the last three years - both personally and professionally. Hopefully I'll have some time after finals and before graduation to share some reflections with you. For now, I'll just say that I can confirm that law school is a very formative experience.
This made me think back to that somewhat gray day in London, when we went to the U.S. Embassy and talked to the JAG's and they said that they'd recommend law school to anyone, to boost self confidence because it's so friggin hard (I paraphrased...)! I can't even imagine how accomplished you'll feel when you finish up- to think, 8 years ago, law school was a far off dream of yours! Your path may have changed, but you're getting there all the same! Good luck in the final push!!!
ReplyDeleteWhen you were in elementary school, you amazed me that you said you wanted to be a valedictorian of your high school class. Not only was I amazed that you knew what that word was, but that you were aiming so high with a "zillion years" standing between second grade at Rock Creek Elementary School and high school graduation. Such has been your story, my dearest Manda Panda. You are a star chaser and, more than that, a star reacher~a star catcher! With your best friend now by your side and a loving family supporting you every step of the way, keep aiming. You CAN and WILL accomplish all you set out to do. I am so very proud of you...
